First big fundraiser

I have made plans for my first big fundraiser! On January 29th, 2009 I will be hosting a fundraiser at Portside Tavern. There will be information about Bike and Build at the door, and everyone will have the option of making a $10 donation. Those who chose to participate will get a free drink coupon, and a wrist band to receive drink specials for the remainder of the evening!

Specials include: $2 domestic beers and $3 stoli drinks (no red bull)

Join us on the 29th at 2821 O'Donnell Street, Baltimore from 7-10pm

I've received a few more donations this week and would like to thank Mark Heinbockel, Mike Tschopp and Effie Seaborn for their donations!

Accepted!

I was accepted to Bike and Build's Southern US Route just after Thanksgiving. I'll be riding my bike from Jacksonville, Florida to San Francisco California, a mere 3534 miles! Bike and Build is a nonprofit pedaling to end poverty housing, by spreading awareness for affordable housing, making donations to local affordable housing groups, and helping to build homes across the United States. Each summer, Bike and Build leads eight different routes across the country, each with about 30 people, and they hit 47 states! This is an amazing nonprofit, please view www.bikeandbuild.org for more information.
Now it's time for me to start training, and doing the necessary fundraising.

So far, I want to thank the following people for their donations: Ghazala Chughtai, Amy Cohen-Callow, Bethany Lee, Josh Ford, Jeremy Ebersole, Deborah Goff and Regina Alston, totaling over $200 already!
